SYNOPSIS
April 2004. In the Iraqi city of Karbala, pilgrims are celebrating the Muslim holiday Ashura when Al-Qaeda and As-Sadra militants launch a series of strikes on the city. The City Hall, headquarters of the local authorities and police, is among the main targets. The furious attacks are repelled by only eighty Polish and Bulgarian soldiers. On limited rations, using almost all of their ammunition, they have to face death in one of the biggest battles for Poles and Bulgarians since World War 2.
